Maceo Cabrera Estévez, 

Founder and CEO of Booklandia


A native Spanish speaker born to Cuban immigrant parents in Brooklyn, NY, Maceo's first book was a present from a friend's trip to Spain, it was purple, with glitter and was about fairies.  After that she spent countless hours in the library reading books, always wanting to build her own library.

She has a Bachelors Degree in Spanish with a minor in Gender Studies from Bradford College, MA.  She also holds a Masters Degree in Creative Writing from New College of California, CA.  

Maceo's love for books has always led her on the path of working on children's literacy through community organizations, workshop facilitation, and bookselling.

Maceo is the mother of Omar Ali and Azalea Paloma, both children's first language is Spanish, their library is filled with beautiful books in English and Spanish.
